Middle Century

Middle Ages was a dark period in European history, 
beginning with the fall of Western Roman empire in 476
and ended with the discovery of America by Columbus
in 1492.

At the beginning of the Middle Ages, the Christian religion
is the Church to fight, but later became a binding power of
culture. Thanks to religious leaders such as Thomas Aquinas
and Franciscus of Assissi, Europe  became one in terms
of religion, doctrine  and Christian institutions. Kingdom
of Charlemagne (Charlemagne) and  the Holy Roman
empire ambitious but not solid.

A secular institution that is closely connected with the
Christian religion is Knight. One of the military struggle
that attracted attention was the Crusades. Gothic architecture
arose which reached a high level. Poets-famous writer is
Danteand Chaucer.  Special secular organizations are 
local (Feodal), artisans unite in a union carpenter (guilds).
